Hi, I'm Alora

I’m a personal attendant to a very hungry kitty, Montana mom of three adult children, artist, writer, and former elementary teacher.

My dream to write and illustrate picture books for kids began in the fourth grade when I wrote and illustrated a story in blotchy ballpoint pen on pink construction paper. It was about chairs competing for a customer in the furniture store. My classroom teacher found it, and encouraged me to enter it into the Montana State Fair. I was so nervous. It was messy and unpolished, but we sent it off anyway. To my surprise, the judge there gave me a blue ribbon and wrote a personal note asking if I’d thought about writing and illustrating books for children. I’ve been thinking about her question ever since.

It turns out, inspiring words planted in young hearts can impact lives, even decades later. Fast forward a whopping 53 years, my first children’s picture book is ready. Yay, and yikes! I’m grateful for helpful family members’ assistance with social media, website development, and other daunting launching mysteries.
